The Benefits of shopping at a farmers' market are many including:
1. Local farmers can sell their produce to local people, keeping down "food miles" and giving the customers direct contact with the farmer/producer.
2. Customers have a wide range of fresh local produce available within the village including some more specialised items and a good organic range.
3. Producers have a regular weekly outlet for their goods all through the year.
4. Small rural businesses are growing up in parallel with the market. We have a number of local cooks who are developing a range of prepared food, made wherever possible from local prime produce.
The Market is run by volunteers and is non profit making and stall fees are kept to a minimum. At present we ask £5 per table per morning. Stallholders must hold Product and Public Liability Insurance to be able to trade at our market. A full list of rules is available on request.
